i have had such an amazing last few days in Montreal
full of:
walking
talking
shopping/
browsing
photographing
cuddling
eating
drinking [a bit]
all as preceders to the wonderful trip that happens...NOW!
yes this marvelous trip has elapsed into the now, and my flight leaves in less than
six hours for Amsterdam/2.5h/Uganda
I get to meet my bestie in Amsterdam's Schipol airport
spend a week with her in uganda
then welcome my dear mother next week for her third trip to Uganda.
I don't know what my goals are for this trip just yet, but I just think about some of the people who have become like extended family to me there and I can't wait!
The violence in Kampala is...there. But also avoidable. I don't intend to toil with politics while there anyway.
We have our own government to fear as it is.
[though a comparison to Uganda and Canada is hardly warranted. I retract my statement.]
Expect long lapses of communication - except if I find a working wireless network.
I definitely was in Zara this past week in the baby clothes section, imagining how cute the babes are this year.
hopefully the babes are cuter than the babes' fashion trends.
[i'm hopeful]
dear family and friends - if I've ignored you lately I'm so sorry! It's not for lack of wanting to be in touch. My heart and thoughts are with you though my emotions are spread thin as I prepare for this trip.
note to self:
packing for Uganda and France at the same = tough. I saw Nico's face move to horror as I showed him the new heeled boots I'm bring with me.
"to uganda?"
-"no. they're for france."
I have one bag full of chic wine tasting gastronomy clothing and another full of khaki and cotton for uganda.
i love you.
i'm so excited.
je vais te manques.
tu va me manques.
one of the two...
the less conceited-sounding one.
I return home to MONTREAL when I come back.
Montreal is my home.
xox
à bientôt
